    Living My Dream
    Traveling the world in 2008

Many people say that they want to travel, and I was one of those people, but it wasn’t until June 2008 that I got my first chance to explore a portion of the world. So at the age of forty-six, I packed a backpack and headed out for what is still today my most epic journey. This book is nearly a direct transfer from my blog at www.kennethcurtis.com, now www.kencurtis.in, complete with some of grammatical errors and all the other mistakes that happen when time is limited. In some situations I’ve made corrections for clarity, but I chose to limit any changes because I want to keep the essence of my thoughts at the time I initially wrote them to remain. It is worth noting that the equipment that I took with me, e.g., camera and comput- er all broke at some point. This is nota- ble due to some of the quality, or lack of quality, in the photographs and video les contained in this book. “...complete with some of grammatical errors and all the other mistakes that happen when time is limited.” Finally, why make a book at all? That’s a little bit tough to answer. I guess I’d have to say that it just seems more tangible, a way to ensure that something of my jour- neys becomes permanent. I don’t have aspirations of becoming a travel author, and I don’t think that many people would be interested in my personal experiences

The title, “Living My Dream,” was taken from a newspaper article that was written about me in the Amarillo Globe News. At the time of the article I was still in graduate school and had accepted the position teaching in Dubai. Somehow naming this book after that article just seems appropriate to me.
